GMK Sets Designed:
GMK Mictlán
GMK Phantom R2
Back in 2018, I stumbled into the world of keycap design, and it honestly felt like stepping into a whole new creative space. The more I got involved in the community, the more I became fascinated by the designs other people were producing. Some of my all-time favorite sets, like GMK Phantom, GMK Masterpiece, GMK Nuclear Data, and GMK Perestroika, really spoke to me. Even though I’ve always been drawn to two-tone colorways, there’s just something about monochromatic sets with bold, unexpected colors that caught my eye.
After spending more time in the scene, I saw how much potential remained untapped. I was itching to make something of my own, so I decided to give it a shot and see what I could come up with with some encouragement of those around me.
When I started working on GMK Mictlán, I wanted it to be more than just another set of keycaps. My idea was to keep it simple at first glance but to have layers of meaning for those who looked closer. Mictlán was really a way for me to bring something fresh to the table while paying tribute to my Mexican heritage. But honestly, what made Mictlán stand out wasn’t just the design itself—it was the support and excitement from the community. People connected with it in ways I didn’t expect, and that shared enthusiasm turned Mictlán into one of the most beloved sets around.
I have been greatly inspired by the entire experience. I'm currently working on two new designs for CYL and one for MTNU, always learning from the incredible creativity in the community. My love for the hobby has only grown as a result of this journey, and being a part of a community that enjoys originality and novel ideas inspires me daily.
